Dear parents of 6th and 7th grade students,

Your child’s class is going on a field trip! This is an excellent opportunity to further your child’s learning outside of the classroom.

On this trip, 6th-7th graders will be introduced to a prominent freshwater esosystem of South Carolina: the blackwater cypress swamp of Cypress Gardens! This self-guided tour of the swamp will include seeing the animals of the Swamparium, a walk around the trails, and a trip on the paddle boats across the swamp. A paper scavenger hunt will keep the students’ eyes peeled for swamp plants and animals all along the way.
