Dear parents of students in 6th-8th grades,
Exciting news – we are heading to the SC State Museum in Columbia on a field study trip!
Field Study Date: March 13, 2025
Class: Science/History
Lead teachers: Rachel Aarons & Waldina Coello
Purpose: During this field study, students will focus on our driving question: “How can we protect and preserve the Truth while also loving others through innnovation and discovery?” Students will study various forms of technology and how they were developed and improved over time. They will explore the telescope gallery and see how improvements and modifications were made to the telescope since Galileo’s first improvements were made and reason about how advances in technology have helped people to better understand God’s creation and meet people’s needs.
Cost: $10/student
Details:
- The cost includes tickets to a planetarium show, money to cover gas, and snacks for the ride home.
- Students must wear the Field Study uniform (CBA mint-green t-shirt & khaki pants/shorts/skirt).
- Students should bring a lunch with them. *Please do not order from Food for Thought for this day.
- Students should not bring money nor any electronics; we will not be visiting the gift shop.

Itinerary:
9:00am – Depart CBA (this will allow all students to arrive, use the bathroom, etc.)
10:30am – Arrive at the museum
4:00pm – Depart the museum
Approx. 6:00pm – Arrive at CBA (**Teachers will send ETA update to parents via ClassDojo)
Transportation: CBA bus
