Each month we talk to students about a Godly trait. We reinforce the idea via scripture and with a song.
Godly trait of the month for August and September:
Obedience
Definition:
Doing what I am asked to do with a good attitude.
Memory Verse:
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— 3 “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” Ephesians 6:1-3
We explain to students some practical ways they can work on obedience:
- Follow instructions with a smile, all the way, right away
- Complete what I am expected to do
- Find joy in doing more than I am asked to do
