Charleston Bilingual Academy is excited to offer a language immersion afternoon program for students who are enrolled in Kindergarten at CBA or another school and who are 5 years old on September 1.
Students will be immersed in Spanish or Mandarin through play and work, while forging friendships in a loving environment. Activities in Spanish include crafting, cooking, playing games, reading, spending time on the playground and doing homework, depending on the day. Activities in Mandarin include learning vocabulary, writing, reading, and pronunciation.
Registration for the 2024-2025 CBA Kindergarten Afternoon program is now open!
2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR
One Kindergarten Afternoon Spanish class with 1 or 2 teachers (depending on # of students registered) – max 18 students
One Kindergarten Afternoon Mandarin class with one teacher – minimum 10 students, max 12 students
IMPORTANT
- Once the classes reach capacity, we will start a wait pool and notify parents.
- A minimum of 10 students must register in order for CBA to be able to offer the Mandarin program.
- Students enrolling in Kindergarten Afternoon Mandarin must register for all 5 days.
- The office will notify parents via email no later than the first week of August whether or not the Mandarin class will take place.
HOURS: 12:45pm to 3:15pm
- Morning teachers will drop off students to the afternoon teachers. Afternoon teachers will take Sports students to their coaches at 3:15pm if the activity is at the FBC campus. Parents are responsible for taking students to activities at other locations.

Enrollment and supply fee: $50/school year
Monthly cost for students already enrolled in morning Kindergarten at CBA:
*5 days/week: $300 (this is the only option for MANDARIN)
4 days/week: $260
3 days/week: $215
2 days/week: $165
1 day/week: $110
“Drop-in”: $35/day
Monthly cost for students NOT already enrolled in morning Kindergarten at CBA:
5 days/week $400
Late pick-up fee: The late pick-up fee is $17 for anyone picked up between 3:15-3:30pm. After 3:30pm, there is a $5 charge for every 10 minutes that a child is picked up late.
PAYMENT
The one-time enrollment and supply fee and monthly cost of the selected program will be added to families’ monthly CBA tuition invoice in Quickbooks, which is automatically emailed on the first of each month starting in July. *Please check your spam/promotions folder if you do not see your monthly invoice and email the finance office if not: finance@charlestonbilingualacademy.org.
