CBA Permission Slip – Grade 4 Field Trip to Fort Sumter – Dec 2024

Dear parents of 4th grade students,

Your child’s class is going on a field trip! This is an excellent chance to further your child’s learning outside of the classroom.

In this trip to Fort Sumter, the students will get to observe and experience where the first battle of the Civil War took place, as well as hear many stories and facts from several perspectives of the Civil War era.

Date of Trip: December 6, 2024

Location: Fort Sumter, Liberty Square, 340 Concord Street, Charleston, SC 29401

ITINERARY

9:45 – Chaperones and students gather in classrooms & prepare to leave
10:00 – Depart CBA
10:30 – Park, walk to Liberty Square, get tickets, & board ferry
11:00 – Ferry departs 
11:30 – Arrive at Fort Sumter, tour, & explore museum
12:30 – Ferry returns; eat lunch on the ferry
1:00 – Return to Liberty Square & tour the other museum
1:45 – Depart Liberty Square
2:15 – Arrive at CBA
 
Transportation: The students will use personal vehicles or school bus for transportation.

Cost: $34.00
  
Payment: Venmo @charlestonbilingualacademy no later than December 5, 2024.

Students should:

  • Wear the field study uniform (Lime-green CBA T-shirt and khaki pants or skirt).
  • Bring a warm coat since we will be outdoors.
  • Bring a packed lunch and water bottle; we will eat lunch on the ferry. *Please remember NOT to order Food for Thought for this day.
