CBA Permission Slip – Grade 3 Field Trip to Downtown Charleston – April 2024

Dear parents of 3rd grade students,

Your child’s class is going on a field trip! This is an excellent chance to further your child’s learning outside of the classroom.

Students will spend the day exploring revolutionary Charleston by participating in a guided walking tour of the Powder Magazine, the Heyward-Washington House, and the Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon.  Students will eat their packed lunch at the Joe Riley Waterfront Park and then visit the Charleston Museum, where they will take part in an educational program on the American Revolution.

Students should bring:

– a bag lunch

– water bottle

– a labeled booster seat (please drop off on the morning of the trip, if required)

Students should wear:

– their CBA logo T-shirt

– khaki pants or shorts 

– comfortable walking shoes

– sunscreen (if desired)

8:30 Depart CBA

9:00 Arrive at Cumberland Street Parking Garage/Have a snack/Walk to Old Exchange

9:30 Arrive at Old Exchange and Provost Dungeon

10:40 Heyward-Washington House

11:40 Powder Magazine

12:30 Parent grabs lunches and students eat at Joe Riley Waterfront Park

1:15 Return to Cumberland Street Parking Garage

1:30 Arrive at Charleston Museum for program

2:30 Depart Charleston Museum

2:50 Return to CBA
