At Charleston Bilingual Academy, we love celebrating cultural traditions that reflect the diversity of our community! This Chinese New Year, our school came together for a joyful and meaningful celebration. We hope this grows more and more as time continues!

Chinese New Year (CNY) is a 15-day celebration. On the first day of CNY, which fell on Wednesday, January 29, the older Mandarin students at HABC visited other classrooms as part of their celebration. The younger Mandarin cohort also joined in the celebration by wearing their colorful traditional Chinese outfits and enjoying a classroom party full of fun and cultural connection.

The next day, our older Mandarin students visited the Early Childhood Campus to teach younger students about Chinese New Year customs and traditions with a special performance of the beautiful song Mo Li Hua (also presented at the Elementary/Middle School Christmas Concert).

You can watch the performance here: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/17xGZGHp6i/

A heartfelt thank you to our fabulous parent, Yan Chen, who generously provided the younger students with a delicious Chinese feast featuring traditional dumplings.

At CBA, we believe these experiences are vital for inspiring world changers—building bridges across cultures and fostering a deeper understanding of the beauty and richness of God’s world.

Happy Chinese New Year! 新年快乐!
