🎉 Weekly Celebration Report: Celebrating Reading Buddies!🎉

📚✨  At CBA, we believe that reading is to the mind what food is to the body. Just as we want to nourish our students with only the best fruits and veggies, we also want to feed their minds with the power of reading!

According to the report Becoming a Nation of Readers, “The single most important activity for building the knowledge required for eventual success in reading is reading aloud to children.” (Anderson et al., 1985)

That’s why our teachers read aloud at every grade level, ensuring every student experiences the magic of storytelling. But it doesn’t stop there! We’re extremely excited to celebrate this year’s launch of our Reading Buddies program where older students share stories with younger ones!

This not only nurtures leadership and responsibility in our older students but also fosters literacy and communication skills. As they read, they become role models—showing fluent reading, expression, and a love for books. It also reinforces their own reading comprehension and boosts confidence as they practice clear articulation and storytelling. Meanwhile, younger students benefit from exposure to new vocabulary and ideas in a fun, engaging way.

This shared reading experience builds community and a lifelong love for learning. 📖❤️
