Let's Celebrate at CBA!

God places specific people in specific times of history as He unfolds His story. Recently, grade 3 "experienced" colonial times during their English-History class. Students spent the last couple weeks researching founders and early settlers of the 13 colonies, learning what it means to persevere and overcome obstacles.  Click here to read more about their studies and see more photos.

Rings of Growth: A message from Principal Lane

The rain wasn’t a downpour – just a steady drizzle. Enough to ruin outdoor plans of biking, yet not enough for joyful puddle stomping. In an effort to get out of the house, away from computer screens, my husband and I meandered through an antique store. As we turned the corner of another crowded aisle, my husband stopped short and exclaimed, “There’s your tree!”

We have exciting news – this year’s re-enrollment is easier and quicker! As we seek to make our procedures more efficient for you, we have combined our student information system (SIS) into the same portal we currently already use to provide financial aid assessment.

CBA's Holmes Ave. Campus

Watch & listen here to Dr. Johnson’s update for CBA’s Elementary & Intermediate Campus to be located at Holmes Ave. Baptist Church, just 1.2 miles from CBA's Main Campus on Lackawanna Blvd.

February 3: Grades 1-6 Early Release @ 1:30pm

Five times throughout the year we will have an Early Release Friday (ER Friday) for Grades 1-6, when dismissed at 1:30.  As published on our yearly calendar, Friday, February 3, is our third ER Friday of the school year. The two remaining ER days will be March 10 & May 12. 

*CBA Kindergarten will have regularly scheduled classes from 8:15am – 12:45pm. The CBA 5K Aftercare will still meet from 12:45pm – 3:15pm on Friday, February 3. There is no 3:30pm soccer class on ER Fridays.

January 31: Registration Deadline Extended for the CBA Father Daughter Dance

The CBA Father Daughter Dance details are below. Please register by January 31.
 
When: February 4, 2023
Where: Armory, 5000 Lackawanna Blvd. North Charleston
Who: All CBA girls and their Dads (or any substituting adult)
Time: 5:30-7:00 pm
Cost: $15 for each couple, An additional $5 for each additional daughter.

K5- Grade 6

Pizza Friday will start again February 10. The total cost for Semester 2 is $35 per child. Please pay in full no later than January 31. Click here for all of the details.

February 1: Director's Chat/Parent Connect: Creating a Culture of Fostering & Adoption

There is a major need for families to foster and adopt children in our state right now.

In the last report from the Department of Social Services in July 2022, there were more than 237 children in foster care in Charleston County alone. In Berkeley County, there were 150, and in Dorchester County, there were 56. There simply aren’t enough foster homes for all of these children.

February 2: Moms Who Pray at CBA

Come join fellow Moms of CBA every other Thursday as we pray for our children and the school.

-All CBA parents and grandparents are welcome!

-Session 1: 8:10-8:35 for families of Elementary students
-Session 2: 8:35-9:05 for families of Early Childhood Education students

CBA would like to offer CBA families access to some of the amazing training that our staff receives during the year. Our first session will be “Wondrous Brains: Neurodiversity”. Adult Spanish Classes Start This Week!

How does Spanish enrich our understanding of what John 8:36 says? The verb used is “ser,” which indicates a *permanent* state. When Jesus frees us, we are (permanently) FREE! 

This is just one small example of the many ways that reading God's Word in multiple languages deepens and expands our understanding. As we study John chapter 8, we'll also study the uses of "ser" and "estar" (both of which mean "to be" in English).
