CBA Celebration of Giving *Update*

Thank you so much for your support as we raise funds towards school safety!

The overall goal for the year is $300,000. Our immediate goal is to meet two matches - $35,000 total - by Dec 31.

December 6: Director's Chat: EC Director/Parent Connect

Learn more about CBA's Early Childhood (EC) program with EC Director Margarita Lopez Hart. At CBA, EC is comprised of preschool and Kindergarten classes on the Friendship Baptist Church campus. We will discuss learning objectives and best practices according to both the National Association for the Education of Young Children and college programs that teach Early Childhood Education. We will also have a time for questions.

• NEW for 2023-2024! Students who attend karate or soccer in Semester 1 will need to re-register for Semester 2. Students continuing through both semesters will be exempt from the Semester 2 registration fee.
• Click these links to register for Sports, Mandarin Club (Grades 1-7), or Art Club (Grades 1-4), or STEM Club (NEW in 2024 for Grades 1-7).
• As of December 2023, BASKETBALL is nearly at capacity and we will start a waitlist soon. If your child is interested in basketball, please submit a form and we will confirm whether your child has been registered or added to the waitlist.  If 25 total students register, we may be able to open another class on a different day.
• If you have already registered for a Semester 2 activity, you will receive an invitation to join the class on ClassDojo this week, and you will see the charge on your next invoice.  Please email admissions@charlestonbilingualacademy.org if you do not see the ClassDojo invitation and email finance@charlestonbilingualacademy.org if you do not see the charge on your invoice by January 8.
  

December 6: CBA Spirit Night @ Panera Bread 4:00pm-8:00pm

Join CBA at Panera Bread (5070 International Blvd, CHS) for our last Spirit Night of the year! CBA will earn 20% of sales during this time.

The CBA Christmas Concert will be December 10 at East Cooper Baptist Church (361 Egypt Rd, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464).

Come before the concert to see CBA student art on display in the lobby and hear live music from 2:30 – 2:55pm. The program will begin at 3:00pm.

*Parents that complete the 2023-24 Parent Survey can bring up to 6 guests to the Christmas Concert on December 10. Otherwise, families are limited to 4 guests.
**There is limited seating capacity and we want to make sure that all parents have a seat.

Friendship Baptist Church (FBC) invites CBA families to their annual Gingerbread House Contest on December 9. Families can register to attend: Session one starting at 10AM or session two at 11 AM.

Do you know a family who is interested in joining the CBA community? CBA currently has a few spaces available in this year’s (2023-24) 4yo program and is offering a $200 tuition credit to current families who refer a new family that enrolls their 4yo for this (2023-24) school year. If you know someone who is interested and has a child who was 4yo on 9/1/2023, please refer them to the admissions page on the CBA website. Once they complete a CBA Inquiry form (where they can let us know you sent them!), they will receive more information and an invitation to join an upcoming school tour!

Sundays in Advent at FBC and HABC

Advent season is upon as we wait with anticipation for the celebration of our Lord Jesus' birth. Friendship Baptist Church (FBC) and Holmes Avenue Baptist Church (HABC) invites CBA families to worship with them every Sunday for special advent messages leading up to Christmas. Join FBC or HABC at 11:00 am. If you missed the first Sunday of Advent (December 3), listen in to Pastor John Lane's message about the Advent of Hope. Romans 8:24-25: For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.

Romans 15:13: May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Bilingual services are held in English and Spanish on the 1st and 3rd Sunday every month. On all other Sundays, Pastor Mark Timmons leads the English-language service and Pastor Luis Carreon leads a Spanish-language service.  A fun and engaging children's program is held during the service.  Find out more by emailing Pastor Mark directly (mtimmons@friendshiptoday.org), calling FBC (843-225-1434), or going to the FBC website. Holmes Avenue Baptist Church
Pastor Bryan Ayers welcomes you to visit Holmes Avenue Baptist Church (HABC) to worship with them on Sundays at 11 am. Holmes Kids gather during the worship time for age-appropriate worship and teaching from newborn through grade 4.
