Let's Celebrate at CBA!

It’s hard to believe how fast the year has gone, but when I take a look at everything the students are learning, it is thrilling! Your elementary and middle school children are becoming creative thinkers, confident communicators, and courageous leaders! On Monday, May 22, we are excited to celebrate that with parents and grandparents at our first CBA Celebration of Learning!

Grandparents Day for 20mo-K5: Thursday & Friday, May 18-19 

Parents and grandparents are invited to come join us in celebrating Grandparents Day! You will get to see what your (grand)children have been learning this year. 

Celebration of Learning for Grades 1-6: Monday, May 22, 1:00 – 2:30

Parents and grandparents are invited to come join us in celebrating a year of learning! You will get to hear your children present as a class and then walk through their classrooms with them.

Update on Summer Adult Spanish Classes

We've shifted plans a bit for our summer adult Spanish class offerings to a format we believe will be more beneficial to you!  We are offering PRIVATE adult Spanish classes in June and July, which will allow you to:

• Book only the dates that work for you, around your travel plans
• Learn at your own pace, as fast or slow as you want to go
• Have the entire class to practice conversation with a native speaker!! (why you're wanting to learn Spanish, right??)
• Get 100% personalized instruction on the topics you want to learn, with written resources provided for practice outside of class

Have a friend or two you'd like to learn with? Let us know and we can form a small group class (and you can split the cost!).

Avoid the "Summer Slide" with LOM

Here’s your friendly reminder to make plans now in order to keep up your child’s language progress over the summer break. The “summer slide” is real, but by being proactive you can prevent learning regression and even make forward progress over the summer!

CBA’s online language program, Language on Mission (LOM), offers Spanish & Mandarin classes for 6 weeks over the summer. Choose the dates & times that work with your schedule, with discounts available the more classes you take. Email LOM Director Pam Davis (pam@languageonmission.org) with any questions!

This year, we asked teachers what would be the most meaningful gift to them and the overwhelming response was gift cards. We know from the last two years they also really appreciate meals during that week. If you missed the donation date cutoff of April 21 but you would still like to bless the teachers, please do!

March 22-26: Last Week Festivities

Final Week Festivities for Elementary/Middle School:
May 22 – 26 has many exciting festivities as we conclude the end of a great school year. Each day will have a theme, including a ‘non-uniform dress theme’.

Invitation to Friendship Baptist Church

FBC welcomes all current and potential CBA families to worship with us every Sunday at 11am!

FBC offers adult Sunday School, Coffee Connection, bilingual worship, Children’s Church, youth groups, grace groups and more!

Each service streams on Facebook Live. 

This month:

• Bilingual services are held in English & Spanish on the 1st and 3rd Sunday every month.
• For the next few months, we will learn from the book of Titus during Sunday worship services. 
• Park Circle Youth meets every 1st and 3rd Sunday at FBC. Every 2nd and 4th Sunday, FBC Youth meets at the home of Nate and Rossana Johnson.  All youth 10 and older are invited to join!
