COVID Updates
We've updated our quarantine protocol (as of January 3) along with the mask usage in school for this month. Please take time to review the policy as cases of COVID continue to rise. It will take all of us working together to keep our students and staff healthy and protect our class time. |

Picture Day
All CBA students will take their school pictures the week of January 31 through February 4. We will send more details closer to the that time. Elementary school students should wear their school uniforms.

Enrollment
As we prepare for 2022-2023 school year, we need our families to update their data in our dashboard. This will help when it's time to send re-enrollment invitations out later this month.

Assessment Date Change
Each school year, CBA students in grades 1 – 5 take the MAP Growth test in English reading, Spanish reading, and Spanish mathematics in August/September, January, and May. Kindergarten also takes MAP in May. Due to the recent COVID spike, we have moved MAP testing for grades 1-5 to the week of January 18-21. Mrs. Lane explains (click the link) what that will be like for your child and why these assessments help guide our teachers.

Godly Trait
The character quality of the month for January is respect. Students will learn about this trait through scripture and songs. Click the link for more details on the trait, the songs, and memory verse for this month.

Hear from Dr. Johnson
In January, Dr. Nathan Johnson will host a series of three Parent Chats. The series was originally scheduled for January 5 and 6. However, with the rise in COVID cases, the schedule must be adjusted. The new dates are January 19 and 20.
Dr. Johnson will break down CBA’s unique curricular approach that is based on child development and international best practices. These are very different than traditional American educational practices. He will explain the vision for the elementary school overall and discuss CBA’s approach to kindergarten education.

JANUARY 14, 2022 - Pizza Friday for elementary school students.
JANUARY 17, 2022 - No school in observance of MLK Day.
JANUARY 18, 2022 - Enrollment opens.
JANUARY 19-20, 2022 - Dr. Johnson hosts Parent Chat series for rising kindergarten and first grade families.
FEBRUARY 18, 2022 - Early release for K-5th grade. No lunch bunch. No sports.
FEBRUARY 21-22, 2022 - Winter Break. No class.
