CBA Fun Run Sponsorships Are Available!

The CBA FUN RUN is on its way! This is our big Spring Fundraiser and the kids absolutely love it. It’s a fun-filled day where each student runs, skips, and dances their way around a track to raise money for CBA. Superheroes join the students on the track while parents and teachers cheer and motivate the students to keep running! The Fun Run shirt will also be used as the PE shirt for next year, guaranteeing exposure for your business!

CBA Fun Run: How can CBA parents help?

CBA is looking for cool parent prizes for the Fun Run this year! We are looking for any prize to be raffled at the fun run. Prizes that have been donated or given in the past are Airbnb destinations, cool experiences and restaurant gift cards, to name a few.

Current CBA families can still re-enroll students for the 2024-25 school year for $260/student.

Enrollment for NEW families began February 10.

The New ESA K-12 Scholarship Portal is Now Open!

5,000 Scholarships Will Provide Private K-12 Options for Low and Moderate Income Families

After nearly eight years of hard work by scores of members of the South Carolina General Assembly, the Education Scholarship Trust Fund (ESTF) was created by act of the legislature in 2023. The ESTF is similar to Education Scholarship Account (ESA) programs that have been sweeping the nation in the last four years.

Join CBA for our second Huey Magoos Spirit Night of the year! CBA will earn 20% of sales during this time.

You do not have to use a code or print the flyer. After ordering, just drop your receipt in the CBA collection box that will be on the counter.

Deadline February 23: TriCounty Therapy Screenings for Preschool

Hi CBA family, we have another opportunity to receive free developmental screenings. This time it is for motor skills, coordination, and sensory processing as well as speech.

February 24: Annual CBA Father-Daughter Dance

The annual CBA Father-Daughter Dance will be on Saturday, February 24, 2024!

Who: All CBA daughters are welcome!

What: Food, Dancing, and Fun!

When: Saturday, February 24, 5:30-7:30

Where: Centerpoint Church at Remount (1520 Remount Rd, North Charleston)

$25 per couple (extra daughters are free) if you sign up by February 16

$30 per couple if you sign up after February 16.

February 23: Pizza Friday for K5-MS

Pizza Friday is sponsored by the PTF and our largest fundraiser of the year. $5 gets your student two slices of cheese pizza, delivered during their lunch. This happens twice per month on Friday’s listed below.

Celebrating Black History Month

‌

Black History Month, or African American History Month, started as a week-long celebration in the US in schools and churches in 1926, sponsored by an Association of Black History. The week was chosen because of Abraham Lincoln’s birthday on February 12 and Frederick Douglass’s birthday on February 14; Black communities had celebrated these dates together since the late 19th century.

We Need You!

We are also looking for volunteers to monitor students from 7:50 - 8:15 a.m at the HABC campus!  We need Playground Monitors for both playgrounds - Grades 1-2 and Grades 3-7 (Oak side).
Coach Lenny and Coach Myers are also stationed on the playgrounds at this time. Having additional monitors will allow teachers to participate in daily devotionals to start their day!

March 16: Mace Brown Museum of Natural History at CofC

Make plans to meet CBA at Mace Brown Museum of Natural History on Saturday, March 16 @ 10:00am. Dr. Scott Persons, curator, will speak to our group.

The museum is located on the 2nd floor of the School of Science and Math at the College of Charleston (202 Calhoun St). The surrounding streets have metered parking and there is also a paid parking garage a few blocks away at 89 St. Philip Street.

March 23: Join Team CBA to Walk for Water

Join CBA’s Walk-for-Water Team! Use the QR code above to sign up your family to join CBA at Water Mission’s Walk-for-Water event. When you register, make sure to join the “CBA- Mighty Oak World Changers” team. The walk will be on Saturday, March 23.
