Parent Survey
Please take 3 - 5 minutes to share your thoughts with us by completing the below survey. Your feedback helps us know how we are doing. There are two surveys: one for parents of our early education (EE) students and one for parents of elementary students. If you have children in both areas, please help us by completing both surveys. COVID Testing
|
 |
With one week left of school, we want to remember that COVID is still an issue. A kindergarten class was quarantined for five days at the end of this past week with three students testing COVID- positive. One student was asymptomatic, and the other two had light cold symptoms. If your child has any symptoms, please make sure you test them before bringing them to school. We really need everyone's support in order to finish this year strong.

Volunteer Appreciation
The academic year has flown by full of successful undertakings that we could not have accomplished without you. For this reason, we want to invite you to an ice cream social at 11:30 am on Wednesday, May 25, at the former outdoor math classroom (between the soccer field and Lackawanna). It’s just a small but sweet way to say, "Thank you!" * PLEASE RSVP * PTO@CharlestonBilingualAcademy.org or txt Volunteer Coordinator Jen Whitewing 843.442.5157.

Help Needed
Between May 31 and June 3 we are looking for volunteers to help anytime between 9 am- 3 pm daily. You will be working along Mr. Lenny moving classrooms to create a Kindergarten cluster and a 1st grade cluster. We also need help for our teachers organizing classrooms, organizing the garage and helping move items into storage. We will be painting, cleaning carpets, and landscaping.
If you can't help during the week, we have a school-wide workday starting at 9 am until 1 pm on Saturday June 4 to finish all jobs.
Contact Dr. Johnson with questions. Thank you for making CBA the most loving school on the planet.

Teachers
Thank You!
Thank you to all the parents who supported another successful Teacher Appreciation Week earlier this month! We raised more than $1,350 in parent donations. Because of this generosity, teachers were fed either breakfast or lunch every day. They also received small gifts as tokens of our collective love for them.

Project Based Learning
|
 | Third graders have been busy learning about Thomas Jefferson, the Declaration of Independence, and the American Revolution in English class, ecosistemas (ecosystems) in Spanish class, and intensely reviewing everything they have learned this year in math class. The 3rd grade teachers masterfully orchestrated a field trip to Charlestowne Landing, incorporating all of these themes, in addition to learning more about local history and Charleston's connection to Barbados. A visit to Charlestowne Landing wouldn't be complete without boarding the pirate ship.
