Rings of Growth
‌

Rings of Growth
By: Principal Marilyn Lane

The new year is well underway! As I look back over the past few weeks, there have been moments of sun as well as moments of stormy winds. Both are part of growth! As we seek to partner with parents to inspire world changers through Christ-centered, intercultural, immersion-based education, we get the opportunity to walk through all those days with joy. Our desire is to see the students become Mighty Oaks. Oak trees grow from a sapling to a mighty oak one ring at a time. Some ‘rings of growth’ that I have observed this past week include grade 3 students creating models of plant and animal cells, comparing and contrasting them as they describe the various parts’ names and purposes in Spanish. Grade 6 and 7 students eagerly learned about ethnobotany from an expert in the field as they study various ecosystems and seek to learn how each of God’s creations was designed to live in a specific place  with a specific purpose. Man’s interactions with them can be helpful or hurtful. How can we be caretakers of God’s beautiful world?

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month at CBA 2023
‌

As the only bilingual school in SC, with the most diverse student population (according to the former Chief of Police of North Charleston and now mayoral candidate Reggie Burgess), it’s our joy to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15-October 15).

Click here to read how CBA will celebrate during the months of September & October.

September Character Quality

September Character Quality: Thankfulness
‌

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, “The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character–that is the goal of true education.” To inspire world changers, it takes a partnership – a partnership in multiple facets including seeing your children become men and women of character.

We invite you to partner wit us in that endeavor by talking together, speaking blessings over your child, and reading together.

Lunches by Food For Thought: Grades 1-7

‌ Lunches with Food For Thought for Grades 1-7
CBA partners with a local company, “Food For Thought,” to provide a completely optional lunch program for the students of grades 1–7. Everything is completely customizable for your child and family on the website from the company providing the lunches.
  • Parents, it is very important for each student to have their class updated to reflect the current school year. Otherwise, there is no way to get the lunches to the students.
  • Ordered lunches arrive at lunch time. Any snack included from “Food For Thought” will not be available until lunch. If you want your child to have a snack option prior to lunch, please send one from home.
