CBA students, their teachers, and families have been busy this semester!

As we prepare for the Celebration of Learning to end the school year, we also wanted to share photos of other opportunities CBA students have had.

Project-Based Learning @ CBA

The driving question in  Grade 5 History class this year is “How can we receive sojourners to Charleston and make them feel welcome?” Last month, students had several hands-on opportunities, including a field study trip to experience what a refugee would feel and experience using the CARTA transportation system, being a part of a foreign language lesson, and eating a central Asian meal at Centerpoint Church. On Saturday, 5th grade students, their teachers and families, welcomed families seeking assistance from the Guatemalan consulate hosted by Centerpoint Church on Remount.

Grade 4 students visited the Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum as a summative learning experience of major events in their final learning units, including World War II, the Korean War, and Vietnam War. Students had a more practical and hands-on experience of these times in American history when great leaders had to make tough, wise decisions and men and women had to sacrifice bravely and serve honorably. Grade 4 students also held their last Generations Gathering of the school year.
